ANANCI began in 2019 with a spider, a story and one belief: culture is not something you keep behind glass. It is something you wear.

Our name comes from Anansi, the spider who travelled from West Africa to Jamaica in the stories of our elders. He won with wit, not weight, and he made sure every story belonged to the people who told it. That spirit runs through everything we make.

What we make

Heavyweight hoodies, crewnecks, tees and hats that carry Jamaican proverbs, parish pride and the Anansi web. Collections like Web of Elders, Where Yuh From?, Evolution and Her Element each tell a piece of the same story.

How we make it

Every ANANCI piece is made to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for someone who might want it. Your piece begins when you choose it, which means less waste and more care in every order.

For anyone who grew up on the island or only in its stories. For the parish you were born in, the one your grandmother left and the one you still call home.
